But Fern, as David, the object of Andrew’s twisted affection, was the kind of quiet revelation that slaps you across the face and you ask for more. Even though we know David’s fate at the hands of Andrew, Fern draws a heartache from his real-life counterpart in a truly moving manner. For the acting novice, it’s a breakout performance.
